Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
I want to thank Maureen (Haggas) for giving me some advice because I’ve been too busy watching myself win the $20m TAB Everest, the richest horse race on turf in the world, to go back and watch a replay of Lake Forest. From what I can remember though I was following the eventual winner in […]
Mrs. Haggas reckons that Zac Purton rode against her instructions to get stuck into the horse. She says with scorn that Purton just sat there like a sissy. We must protest. Take a look at the ride of Ciaron Fallon on the horse in last year’s Golden Eagle (above), and Zac Purton’s ride on it […]
William Haggas wife and assistant trainer Maureen gave Zac Purto0n one of the greatest sledges and sprays that anyone has ever given a jockey for his ride on Lake Forest in the King Charles III at Randwick last Saturday. Mrs. Haggas certainly wasn’t backward in coming forward with her poor opinion of the ride. Here […]
QRIC lawyer – Anderson is his name – is making a goose of himself here. He wants to keep debating principles that the Panel have already decided in the Chris Watson case and reaffirmed in its decision in Rob Thorburn’s appeal. The bloke even gets the Thorburn penalty decision wrong. Finally Judge O’Brien gets tired […]
This lawyer for the QRIC can’t take a hint, even though Judge O’Brien has given him plenty, and wants to keep arguing why the decision on Jeff Mackay is relevant to Mitch Goring’s matter, even though it so clearly isn’t and the Judge has told him so in no uncertain terms. Blah blah Mackay, blah […]
The QRIC is opposed to Goring’s application for leave for an extension of time to have his appeal heard. They say that offenders can’t be allowed to sit back and wait to see how decisions in other appeals fall before lodging an appeal, they have to lodge their appeals within the prescribed timeframes or otherwise […]
Mitch Goring (pictured in middle) We are here at the Racing Appeals Panel to witness a couple of riders appeals against their disqualifications for submitting doctored Health Assessment Reports (HAR). The Panel has scheduled the appeals of both Jesse Townsend and Mitch Goring for the same time of 9.30am, which obviously won’t happen because you […]
That’s a monster of a sentence the 25 year disqualification handed down to jockey James Innes Jr this week by Racing NSW Stewards, one of the heaviest short of life that I have ever seen, although to a 30 year old mid-rung rider life is what it really is. I don’t know what Innes did […]
Today’s meeting at Kyneton has been abandoned due to the state of the track after just one race. Which is bizarre given that they were racing on a Good 3 track and there was no storm or other unexpected weather event. It was a surprise to see the horses throwing up such big clods of […]
Keep your eyes on the rider in the blue and red silks with red cap on the inside. It’s Rory Hutchings. Watch what he does. For some reason the Eagle Farm Stewards Report is not up yet, so we don’t know if the stipes have seen it. The rest of the animal loving world has […]
