Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
Watch the replay below. It is a heat of the rich 3YO NSW Breeders Challenge run at Bathurst last night. Winning it guarantees a pacer a place in the semi-finals. Five quick things before you look. Mitch Turnbull is driving the leader. His sister Amanda is on his back. The favourite is in the death. […]
When the New Zealand Racing Integrity Unit was set up in the wake of the Messara report there was great hope that the new, independent (to a degree) body would jump boots and all into the job and start cleaning up the plague of performance enhancing drugs in the sport. On the evidence published to […]
This was received last night from a harness racing industry expert. It is a very astute analysis/ Well there is the ultimate exercise in stupidity from Harness Racing Victoria. Why did it edit the video to cut out the interference in the straight? If it wasn’t TABCorp putting up the replay in its entirety someone else […]
When a dual licensed jockey/trainer has a runner in a race they are not allowed to ride any other horse. Black and white, no ifs or buts, full stop, end of story. As we told you a few days ago, dual licensee Cheryl Rogers rode a horse in the 2nd race at Gayndah against one […]

The QRIC maintain it’s stance that a young man aged 30 should be thrown out of the sport for life on spurious grounds, even though he […]
Last week an English trainer named Johnny Farrelly was permanently excluded – warned off – from racing after being found guilty of sexually abusing a 19-year-old apprentice jockey under his control and care. To protect the identity of the victim the reasons for his exclusion were suppressed, but that is what they are. The Australian […]
I was a union official in a former life, and during that time I dealt with literally hundreds of cases in which workers were accused of serious misconduct by their employer. Without exception each of those who were found guilty of the allegations were summarily dismissed, meaning they were sacked on the spot. It’s the […]
