Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
The word out of Victoria is that many good judges hold grave concerns about the integrity of the last race at Echuca on Wednesday night. In fact they think it was a fix. I do too. So why don’t the Stewards? Here is the background. There are four horses in the betting. They are: Number […]
So jockey Brad Pengelly comes back to scale on Kasinova Kid, the winner of the last race at Rocky on the 13th of December last year, and on his way to weigh-in he slips his mount’s girth to the horse’s trainer Nick Walsh. Walsh hides the girth behind his back. The pair get sprung. Pengelly […]
I am no fan of abortion, with my personal view being that I wouldn’t do it, and would die inside if my Maggie did. Thankfully for both of us, she shares my views. But neither of us are saying we’re right, for it is not our place to do so. We make our personal choices […]
Robert Silkman is the number two witness in the Teacher’s Pet trial. He says that the accused man Chris Dawson – the ‘Teacher’ – asked him if he knew anyone who could knock off his wife. Silkman says the conversation they had during which Dawson put this question to him was on the flight home […]
Some people say that Woodend Beach trainer Matt Purvis doesn’t give his horses a bit of the old Tally Ho treatment, and do you know what, I’d love to believe them. Well as you all know, after 3 wins in a row we feel its only fair this week to give Jason Bonnington $100 head start in our head to head tipping challenge, in the hope that the poor bastard might finally land a win. Bonno hasn’t put up his selections at Meltonyet, so we don’t […]
It’s hard not to feel sorry for Danny Nikolic. Being a mug judge of footy must be a very difficult thing, even for the most deluded of men. Matchsticks are the currency, because the poor bastard doesn’t have a cent. I write it up on the board as cash, to give him a glimmer of […]
Kiwi trainer Cameron Jones has been found to have, and has admitted, injecting his horse Johnny Nevitts with a substance on race day. There is however a major problem. Jones has given sworn evidence to the Racing Integrity Board that the substance injected was a product named Flexadin. Flexadin is not sold in injectable form. […]
The NZ Harness Racing Owners Federation (NZHROF) has quite properly raised concerns about two licensed participants being allowed to continue to work in the industry at a time that they are separately and jointly facing charges of indecent (sexual) assault against a victim who most the industry are aware is also an industry participant. NHROF’s […]
