By Max Presnell maxpresnell.com/2025/10/20/a-weekly-review-the-good-the-bad-the-ugly-39/ Disclaimer – The views expressed are Super Max’s, not our own The GOOD and BAD centres around Peter V’Landys and Racing New South Wales while the UGLY is Sir Delius with undertones of the sensational Tulloch withdrawal from the Melbourne Cup. Today’s meeting at Kyneton has been abandoned due to the state of the track after just one race. Which is bizarre given that they were racing on a Good 3 track and there was no storm or other unexpected weather event. It was a surprise to see the horses throwing up such big clods of […]
Hi Peter, Regards metric miles. The correct conversion of a mile to metric is in meters = 1609.344m. So in the old language the King Charles III is still a foot short or there abouts of a mile. You didn’t really expect the stewards to penalise Cam for running over a few pegs in the Vic Cup did you? They didn’t penalise him for hocking Swayzee in the Hunter Cup remember, so why start now? Cole told […]

Story by Joshua Smith: Loveracing.nz Sharp ‘N’ Smart will be lining up on Melbourne Cup Day, it just won’t be at Flemington. The former New Zealand Horse of the Year was guaranteed a start in next month’s Gr.1 Melbourne Cup (3200m), being 23rd in order of entry, but his connections have decided to bypass the $10 […]
Hi Archie Think your concerns re the stewarding at Marburg is a bit misguided. The Stewards should be commended for showing common sense in their approach to some of gallopers on the day. Well done them. Less than one third of the starters(19 of 58) on the day had ever raced at Marburg previously. And […]
Tim Vince with one of his favorite doped to the eyeballs pacers We are pretty sure this is a gee-up so we will treat it with the contempt it deserves, but mail from an anonymous tipster in the South Island is that Tim ‘Stonefish’ Vince – a founding member of the uber successful Hong Kong […]
