The Canary Tries to Pull Off Yet Another Syndication Rort Scam and Stooge

We have written on numerous occasions about Andrew ‘The Canary’ Fitzgerald, the unregistered NZ trot syndicator who operates outside the law and rips unsuspecting innocent punters off blind.

Here is yet another example.

The Canary – through the Off N Gone syndicate that he owns and manages – has been offered 10 percent of a square gaiting yearling supposedly bought by Diamond Racing for $95 000 at last week’s Christchurch sales.

That sale is about as genuine as a triple axe murder’s remorse when he gets caught with the cutter in his blood soaked hand.

The next highest priced En Solitaire lot across the sales on both islands was $19 000, which even at that price is hugely over the odds for the unraced spec stallion’s service fee is only $1500.

No-one pays a genuine $95 000 for a yearling by a $1500 sire, not unless they are 9/10ths mad or bullshitting.

Pick whichever one you like.

But just for the sake of it, let’s assume that the sales price is actually genuine and true, rather than a primed pump.

The Canary’s ten percent share that he is out there spruik sellling to suckers is therefore worth $9500, or lets say $10 grand after exes.

He is flogging 50 shares in the 10% at $250 upfront per, which means that they are 0.2% shares in the actual horse, and that his cut comes to $12 250.

So the Canary is making $2500 or 25% on the deal at the start, which is a hell of a lot better than bank interest.

But the scam has only just begun.

On top of the $250 the mug punter with a hard sold dream stumps up at the opening of the innings, they also pay the Canary a fee $15 a month plus GST, which it’s highly unlikely that Fitzgerald remits to the IRD (NZ’s version of the ATO).

The fifteen a month is presumably for training fees.

50 x $15 – $7500.

For a ten percent share in a yearling that hasn’t even been broken in, which means that the nominal total training fees for the full 100 percent are $75 000 a year.

Or $90 000 if you don’t apply council work rates which give punters a $15 000 discount based on only working 10 in every 12 minutes.

Oh puh-lease.

Have you ever heard of a trot trainer that charges $75k a year to train a horse?

Not even Tim Butt has the audacity to try and pull that one on the suckers.

It gets better though, or worse, because its a $1.10 certainty that the Canary’s plan is to send the young square gaiter onto one of his budding trainer mates to prepare on a 50-50 prizemoney deal in lieu of fees, which means that the $75 grand a year is vanishing into thin air.

Or more correctly, it’s going straight into this crooked con man Canary’s pocket.

This bloke – who was a close mate of the criminally convicted fraudster Mitch Kerr, who sold shares in and billed expenses for non-existent horses – is pulling a swifty the size of Mt Taranaki, one that is hotter than the mineral springs at Rotorua.

Fitzgerald should be hurled out of racing and thrown head first into jail, with keys dropped down the sinkhole just around the corner from Te Mata peak.

He is a scumbag, a liar, a fraudster, a fantasist, a thief, a fuckwit, and a germ.

A cur who is a curse on the good name of harness racing, or what of it we have left.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS POOR EXCUSE FOR A MAN!

That is my clear and unequivocal warning to you all, and I am shouting it from the rooftops, because this unlawful so said syndication is nothing but a fraud and a rort.

And don’t worry about the grub threatening to sue you or saying he’s going to sue me either.

This piece of shit already threatened me with that, and even went to the extent of getting his halfwit suburban wills and conveyancing lawyer to send me a tough guy letter demanding I withdraw my claims and apologise.

I wrote back telling the pair of idiots that I’d rather cut off my left ball, roast it in a baking tray and eat it for brekky, and told them both to either get fucked or go for their lives, because truth is the ultimate defense and I was telling it, just like I am here.

I never heard back from the flim-flam men, and no legal papers ever arrived.

I guess they chose the fuck off option hey?

The Canary can choose it again here too.

This bloke is scamming you, or trying to anyway.

Tell Andrew Fitzgerald to fuck off too.

You work too hard for your money to give it to a smooth talking slickster germ like him.

Don’t do it.
