Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
Emma Stewart continued her annual pillage of the Vicbred series last night at Melton by winning all four finals that she contested, and her stable taking home around $370 000 in prizemoney. That’s not as much as in previous years, due to HRV slashing stakes, but it’s still a pretty good night at the office. […]
Black Hex is, with all due respect to the horse and its connections, a walker and an absolute cat. In its ten start racing career prior to the 12th of June this year the cheaply bred 4YO gelding had only once ever run a place, in a weak maiden at Stony Creek on a Heavy […]
When you have three minutes spare take a look at the excerpt below from CEO Matt Isaacs address to Victorian harness racing industry participants at last week’s HRV annua presentation. Isaacs says that he and his HRV Chairman Bernard Saundry are meeting with the leaders of Harness Racing NSW to reshape the businesses, and says […]

It […]
Jumps jockey Steven Pateman was handed a 16 heavyweight and jumps race suspension for careless riding leading to a fall in which the jockey in the white silks Aaron Lynch fell and broke his scapula in the race above at Warrnambool. You can’t see the fall because the Stewards edited the film to avoid showing […]
JD Hayes and Dakotah Keane, pictured above at last night’s Victorian Racing Awards I am a bit confused. I’m quite sure that I saw jockey Dakotah Keane out one night arm in arm with one of the Hayes boys when I was down on one my regular racing trips to Melbourne, not sure which, or […]
This is Mildura race 1. Take a look at the driver of the leader, Corey Johnson. Watch how he extends his whip out way wide of the cart. These below are rules 156 (6), (7) and (8). (6) A whip shall not be used so as to obstruct, strike or endanger another driver or horse. […]
