Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
$240 000 – Bettors Delight x Hartofdixie (c) Full brother to Erupt Stride, the colt that Australian construction giant Emilio Rosati paid $320 000 for at the 2021 yearling sale. This one was 3/4 off that huge price, and so he should be given that his older brother has had 9 starts for 5 wins […]
It’s not often we share the same space these days. Had enough of that in our early days, but fate did just that last night. Archie made a pit stop on his way to the Apple Isle for the wedding of his good friends Steve and Chelsea. And I was in Melbourne for a court […]
Did you see the flucs on race 5 at Cranbourne? You’re a bloody idiot if you didn’t. But hey Cracker, I’m just a mug. So is ‘Honest’ Robert Walters. That lawyer bloke standing in front of you yelling out “Ben Yole and his Henchman are C**ts” wasn’t kidding Honest Rob. You know, the fella shouting […]
Tim bloody McGuigan. A while back I was shooting blanks at him. Last night the bugger got me for a grand. Or two. Oh well. 10% is fair for a sling I suppose. I reckon Darcy the driver deserved it more though. Timmy reckons he owed it to Mum in board. Personally I think young […]
If there is, I haven’t found it yet. Neither has Chelsea, the owner of the winner. What a shame she’s marrying my mate Steve this weekend. And is madly in love with him. Bugger. Oh well, a five figure win softens the blow. What was that about Archie Butterfly being a mug Cracker? How much […]
Why is it that the Queensland Racing Minister can see fit to force the stand down of the Albion Park CEO Scott Steele over him being charged with rape, but she can’t ensure that he stays away from the track? The whole world knows that Steele is at Albion Park for almost every meeting held […]
The great Peter Wolfenden MBE passed away last night, at the age of 88. The man known far and wide as Wolfie won the New Zealand drivers’ premiership 14 times, including eight consecutive years from 1974, and twice won the Australasian Drivers Championship. He represented New Zealand seven times in the World Drivers Championship in […]
Was that Greg Gangle, the (seemingly temporary) CEO of the Riverina harness racing club at Wagga, that I saw on Friday night at the Newcastle Mile meeting being wined and dined by the committee of the Newcastle Harness Racing Club? The same club that recently advertised seeking applicant for a new CEO/General Manager? If it […]
It is cheap at $20 a month when you think about it, isn’t it? How much is a $2 avocado smashed on toast these days? Bloody hell. I’d rather spend mine on a subscription.
A lot of people who don’t like the challenge that we throw down to the harness racing establishment reckon we are mugs who wouldn’t know Edgar Britt from Doris Day when it comes to the trots. Of course these experts are right. That’s why we live in Port Douglas and sleep in until we want […]
