Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
You couldn’t have scripted this year’s New Zealand Trotting Cup (which is really a pace) any better if you’d tried. The will he or won’t he drama with Leap To Fame, the last minute entry of Swayzee onto the scene, the NZ North Island Horse of the Year Merlin v the Australian Horse of the […]
Well well well. So last years NZ Cup run gutted Swayzee so much that they pulled him out of the Friday FFA (after they tried to take advantage of the NZ TAB’s no deduction for scratchings on Fixed Odds bets policy to pull a rort on the punt). And now they want to duck out […]
So now Swayzee is coming to New Zealand after all. Oh man I hope Leap To Fame makes it, even though I doubt he will. What sort of race will it be if we get Swayzee v Leap To Fame v Merlin. Larry v Patrick v the Wiz. The race of the century this will […]
Leap To Fame blood count isn’t right isn’t right. He won’t be boarding his flight to New Zealand tomorrow. Larry’s Cup campaign’s in disarray. Our recent claim that Merlin can beat Leap To Fame in the NZ Cup has been roundly poo-pooed by trot fans on both side of the Tasman, all of whom believe that Larry is an unbeatable certainty. They’re probably the same mob who declared India certainties to win the World Cup cricket, and we all […]
Archie You’re living in dream land thinking that Merlin can beat Leap to Fame in the NZ Trotting Cup. Larry the legend will do to the great fake Merlin what the Kiwis have done to their own industry in NZ. The great Merlin got carted into Friday night’s race at Alexandra Park by team driving […]
Way back to before he even had his first start we have been telling people that the Kiwi pacer Merlin was a champion, and by now most people agree, including the judges who last weekend named him the NZ 2023 Horse of the Year. On the strength of what we saw last night in the […]
Early favorite Akuta is out of this year’s New Zealand Trotting Cup. The Nathan Purdon trained 5YO has reportedly broken down in his early lead up work, and won’t be seen again this year, with his future is said to be under a cloud. Akuta becomes the 2nd topline pacer from the Purdon barn to […]
