Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
No doubt the harness media who are on the payroll of either HRV, or certain trainers, owners or breeders will wax lyrical about the Emma Stewart stable getting 27 runners in the 72 horse fields for next week’s rich Group 1 Breeders Crown finals, and for sure they will be acclaiming her 9 wins in […]
The question is this. How does the NR120 rated pacer Act Now – the winner of 19 races from 40 starts, including the 3YO Breeders Crown, the Victoria Derby, 2 heats of ID22 and 3rd placegetter in the final, and earner of just $700 000 at the tender age of 5 – get balloted out […]
Hey mate, ACT NOW was a late nom, thus why not in the field. It’s the trainer’s fault for not nominating him on time. I guess Emma was just busy winning the Eureka then, and forgot. But how does a horse get entered late unless the nominations have been extended? If that is the case […]
Dear Peter Profit To support your argument that Peter ‘the Plodder’ Chadwick must go have a look at Melton August 9th. Plodder officiated the 11 race card but only reported on the first 10. The report suggests a pre race swab for race 11 and a horse action for Aldebaran Yeurial being placed ODM. It […]
Dear Members, At the meeting between the Presidents of the Kindred Bodies and Harness Racing Victoria yesterday, the VHRC was provided with a copy of the proposed stakes tiers (outlined below) that will apply in Victoria from 1 October 2023. These adjusted tiers are necessitated based on the need to reduce prize money in Victoria […]
The following is a statement by the Presidents of the Victorian Harness Racing Kindred Bodies following their meeting with Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) yesterday. All members of the HRV Board and Senior Management Team participated in yesterday’s meeting which went for more than three hours and involved robust but constructive discussion from all parties. The […]
Last night at Melton they kicked off the ridiculous series of fifteen 1200m races run over three weeks as part of HRV’s self proclaimed and much acclaimed exciting new plan to invigorate harness racing and spike turnover upwards and through the roof. This was the sort of racing that all the imaginary young folk out […]
Aaron Bain Racing and Summit Bloodstock bought a 3-year slot in the Eureka for $300 grand. The 300 was supposed to have been paid cash up front. I’m beginning to doubt it. Bain-Summit are selling off their slot in what they call Mini Shares. For the bargain price of just 50 bucks you too can […]
How many HRV execs does it take to change a lightbulb? Silly question. Seven of course. How many communications team staff does it take to send write a flyer? This many in the picture at the top. Ten. Tell me this if you can. Why on earth does HRV need both a Corporate Partnerships Manager […]
Racing Victoria CEO Andrew Jones is a man who clearly doesn’t know when to hold ’em and fold ’em, and definitely doesn’t know when to walk away, and when to run. Jones has had a horrible winter, and has just made it a whole lot worse. Instead of just putting his hand up and saying […]
