Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
A mate of mine claims that Gary Hall Jr is the greatest driver in Australia. I think he’s mad. Great drivers don’t fall asleep on $1.30 shots and get them beaten through inattention like Hall did on the hotshot Star Lavra in the WA Country Derby yesterday. Fast forward it to where they enter the […]
Not content with murdering Leap to Fame in the Be Good Johnny, Moses decided to do it again to Kevin Seymour and the punters on the odds on favourite Bettor Cullect in the 2YO Qbred For Life final. Dixon was drawn gate 3 on the dominant $1.90 fave with only two longshot outsiders inside him. His […]
I have said it time and time again and I will say it again: Grant ‘Moses’ Dixon is a great trainer but he couldn’t drive his way out of a wet paper bag on a 4 lane highway if he was the only one on the road. He proved my judgement right again last night at […]
Under the rules of harness racing no female driver who is pregnant is permitted to drive in races after their first trimester, with the onus on the licensee to inform the controlling body of their pregnancy. It’s a safety issue for the pregnant driver and their unborn baby, not a sexist based imposition on women […]
Young driver Will Rixon copped a 14 day suspension for interference he caused in his drive on the $151 third placegetter Moltalbano in the $150 000 final of the Group 1 3YO Breeders Challenge at Menangle yesterday, and he got to keep his driving fee and prizemoney commission share. The bloke had been f**ked by […]
Just take a look at this drive by Brad Williamson on the favourite Perfect Potion at Wyndham a couple of weeks ago. You will never see as big a hook job if you live to be a hundred years old. Williamson has the fave perched beautifully 1 out and 2 back in the line, but […]
The Emma Stewart stable sent a team down to South Australia this week to contest the heats of the SA Derby and SA Pacing and Trotting Cups, but unlike in previous years they didn’t send one of their own drivers down with them, preferring instead to let Gaita Pullicino handle their horses. After what happened […]
Trainer/driver Michael Stanley absolutely and utterly slaughtered the odds on favourite Rock N Roll Doo in last night’s Geelong Cup. What the hell was he thinking and doing? Nothing and nothing it appeared. First he decides to ease the fast beginner Doo off the arm at the start from gate 3. WTF? This is a […]
Race 4 at West Wyalong on 13 October This is one way to get the pesky horse in the 1-1 off your helmet and off your back when you are death seating I guess. It’s not quite the done thing though. The backward horse butting driver Michael Hardy copped 14 days out for his act […]
Further to our earlier story about leading Kiwi driver John ‘Lurch’ Dunn pulling a sickie at the Ashburton race meeting in Sunday because someone tipped him off about the integrity folk being at the track with their breath testing kit, the red hot mail from the South Island is that the man was in fact […]
