A Tale of Two Cities and Identical Offences – But Will the Penalties Be the Same?
Last year New Zealand stewards caught a small time trainer in New Zealand named Sheryl Wigg treating 3 horses on race day, much the same as Victoria’s leading trainer Emma Stewart was caught treating two of her horses on race day a couple of weeks back prior to the Maryborough Cup . The substance that […]
How Did Emma Stewart’s Swabs Get Tested So Fast?
The veil of silence over the Emma Stewart stable’s admission that it administered a substance of some sort to two horses on the day of the Vicbred Super Series is deafening. The actions of the HRV Stewards is baffling, leaving a myriad of troubling unanswered questions. What the hell is going on here? How do […]
The Plumbing Depths of Oz Bred Stayers
Australia’s weakness in the staying ranks has long been known, but it is getting worse by the day, as yesterday’s results in the G1 Metropolitan showed. Only 4 of the 15 runners in the race were bred here. They finished 5th, 11th, 12th and 13th. Each of these Aussie breds was born of a European, […]
Is Sharp ‘N’ Smart’s Spring Over Before It Has Really Begun?

If that wasn’t impressive enough, in the 2yo races – which are […]

There are rumours swirling Victoria that a leading harness racing trainer from the north of the state may soon be in the news for a positive swab that might cause him a few problems. The trainer, a multiple Group 1 winner, is said to have thrown the positive with one of his horses to Levamisole, […]
The Horse Should Appeal
How the hell can you go around perpetrating totally unnecessary violence on a horse – brutality even – on a horse and only get a $1000 fine for it? As you will remember Central QLD trainer Tim Cook did this above to a horse a few months ago. “Whack!” a backhander to the head. The […]
What’s Going on Here?
Punters aren’t allowed to bet on credit with online bookies, so why is Betr able to pay to pay on tick? That’s the question everyone is asking after the struggling bookmaker announced yesterday that it would not be paying out on winning bets in it’s 100-1 footy promotions until almost a week after the Grand […]
Will Andy Gath Chase Do a Willie Wonka and Chase the Golden Ticket?
The big question on everyone’s lips at the moment is whether trainer Andy Gath will come to Queensland to chase a golden ticket entry into ID23 after his horse Outlaw Man smashed Captain Ravishing’s 2180m track record last night at Kilmore in the 7-Eleven Cup. Gath would surely have to be tempted after the 5YO […]
