EXCLUSIVE – The Father of the Ref Who Let the Forward Pass Go is a Life Member of the Eels

Referee Grant Atkins allowed a blatant forward pass last night from Parramatta that resulted in the first try.

It won the Eels the match.

Grant Atkins father Graeme Atkins played for the Eels from 1975 to 1982, and again from 1985-1987.

He is a life member of the Parramatta club.

One of the boys.

What was his son doing refereeing this match?

What were the NRL thinking?

This is bad, real bad.

The Cowboys have been knocked out of the finals by the son of Eel.

We’ve been had.

Big time.

Do you watch footy today?

My only interest is my son Grant who is a first-grade referee and Penrith junior mentor.

I’ve lost a bit of interest because I played for the passion of playing for my district.

My father played first grade for Parramatta.
