Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
I simply cannot believe it. Ride High has been withdrawn from the Inter Dominion. Why? Owner Peter Gleeson has been telling us for ages that the horse nicknamed Chainsaw was coming back. Trainer Clayton Tonkin told us too. Look. March 2021 July 2021 September 2021 How could they have been so wrong? Clayton wasn’t lying […]
It was only a couple of days ago that we told you about veteran driver John ‘the Russian’ Stariha being outed for a month for running crazy stupid sectional times on a leader in a race at Albion Park. Well he did it again in the last race last night. The Russian was driving It’s […]
Emma Stewart trains six out of the ten winners on Breeders Crown night. Her strike rate is 67%, for she only contests nine races. She lands three quinellas too. More than $630 000 worth of prizemoney her horses win. 7.5% she gets as a minimum. A tick under 50 grand. It’s not bad for a […]
Better late than never. We’re in for a big night. MELTON Race 3 no 2 – Tough Love NSW’s best 2YO female trotter takes on Victoria’s best fillies Just A Bit Touchy and Aldebaran Vera. It beats them too. Peter V’Landys v Giles Thompson. It’s no contest at all is it? Race 4 no 11 […]

After reading the new NZ harness race starting regulations that are aimed to ensure that NZ races in future run on time, I got in touch with Catherine McDonald the GM of Racing at HRNZ to ask how these changes will achieve their stated goal. It’s a big issue because Kiwi races are regularly being […]
Young Angus Garrard is usually one of the cleanest drivers in the game, and one of the better ones too. Not on Tuesday he wasn’t though. Angus had a real off day. First of all he totally misjudged his drive on the odds on favourite Couldntmisafalcon in race 6, hooking it out and around from […]
https://www-harness-org-au.akamaized.net/qld/APC16112107.mp4 John ‘the Russian’ Stariha (who is actually not, he’s Slovenian) has been driving trotters since I was born, which was a long time ago, and he was driving them before I ever became a twinkle in Mum and Dad’s eye too. Sadly he hasn’t improved much with experience, despite his undoubted enthusiasm and passion […]
