Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
The message below to Ray is to Ray See, the administrator of the Facebook page Racing Around QLD, from a committee member of the Rockhampton Jockey Club. We have a few questions of our own to the committee man that we pose below. Ray, I’m on the committee of the RJC and just want to […]
I have problems with Stewards whose judgement is so poor that they friend racing licensees on Facebook. In my opinion it shows a clear lack of judgement, and failure to understand clear lines. Alex Streckbein chaired the meeting at Warwick yesterday. He is former Racing Victoria Steward of limited experience, who has obviously been appointed […]
Archie Give Wayne Hill five years. He is a brainless idiot. That’s a compliment. Rules aren’t made to be broken. They are made to be obeyed, and for a reason. Hill just doesn’t get it. He is a cowboy and a cancer on the game. Yours at the trots as always, Barossa Bill
On Sunday sections of the Callaghan Park home straight were too wet to race safely on, and the Archer meeting scheduled for that day was cancelled. The Rockhampton Jockey Club CEO claimed that the sodden patches of the straight resulted from a sprinkler malfunction, which seems to be the excuse every time something goes wrong […]
There are 7 races at the Warwick gallops meeting on the Darling Downs on Thursday, with a total of 92 runners competing across the card. Such great sized fields are a wonderful thing for Queensland racing. There is just one problem, and it is not the usual one about a lack of jockeys to ride the […]
The time honored Hobart Cup was run on the 8th of February over 2363m. It was supposed to have been run over 2400m, but the track staff stuffed up and put the starting stalls in the wrong place. The Starter knew about the mistake prior to the jump and told the Chief Steward, but the […]
Finally, belatedly, Racing Queensland have decided to send its Senior Track and Development Manager Marty Synan – the so said ‘guru’ – up to Rockhampton to do the job the RJC said he was supposed to do the whole time, which is mentor their inexperienced new track curator Kent Lean, who was hurled into the […]
Duck shoving is an Australian and New Zealand term for evading responsibility, passing the buck, or acting unscrupulously to avoid blame. It often refers to bureaucratic or political maneuvering to avoid accountability. A game of duck shoving has already begun in the Beef Capital, as people attempt to forward maneuver avoiding blame for the debacle […]
In our previous story we wrote that long serving track foreman Rob Burnell was mentoring the new Callaghan Park track manager Kent Lean. We based that on publicly available material, most of it published by the Rockhampton Jockey Club. Since then we have been informed that Rob Burnell resigned from his employment with the club […]
So the Rockhampton Jockey Club is once again blaming a sprinkler malfunction for the track being unsafe to race today for the Archer meeting. Yeah good. No doubt they will once again dive into the junk pile in the shed and pull out an old disused rusted valve like they did last time and blame […]
