A Four-Legged Lottery

The Ex-Steward, the Dick Picks, and the Spark

We have written about former racing Steward Neil Boyle on a number of occasions.

It is our view that after the incident involving him sending unwanted lewd texts and pictures to an apprentice jockey a couple of years ago – actions that saw him quietly walked out the door – he should never have been allowed back into racing.

But he’s Boyley, everybody’s mate.

The accused rapist Scott Steele is too.

A lot of people can’t see the forest from the trees.

I don’t know what Boyle does these days, but this afternoon we received the following message from a former jockey who worked closely with Boyle when he was a trainer.

Inquiries that we have made this evening with a number of different sources strongly suggest that what the jockey is saying is true.

Here it is.

I’m REDACTED, an ex jockey.

I want to ask you this.

How are the Qld stewards going to deal with the Todd Austin and Ric McMahon jigger saga, when one of the current Queensland thoroughbred  racing stewards was a big jigger man himself.

I refer here to Neil Boyle.

He would get me to use a jigger on horses regularly at the REDACTED racetrack.

Now he is a steward, when he was one of the biggest racing and animal welfare criminals in QLD when he was a trainer.

How can this be?

To the best of our knowledge Neil Boyle is no longer a racing steward*.

Hopefully he never will be again.

People who use jiggers on horses deserve to have them inserted into their own bodily orifices and have the voltage turned up.

If the think the horse likes it, then surely they will too.

*An earlier iteration of this story had Boyle as a current QRIC Steward.

This was not correct.

We apologise to the QRIC for our unintentional error.
