The Lead and How to Swing It

“Amateur” – PVL stares down Alligator Al, and tells it how it is

This is the rule that egotistical Allan Endrez claims that Peter V’Landys introduced just to get him.

Like most things that Alligator Al says and does, it is bullshit.

Here is the one that’s got him, and it’s all his fault.

(9) A person must not enter or cause to be entered a horse in a race, official trial or jump-out where a person who is not permitted to hold an ownership or lease interest in the horse pursuant to subrules (7) or (8) purports to hold such an interest in the horse.

(10) Notwithstanding Racing Australia, a PRA or the Stewards of another jurisdiction assessing a person as fit and proper, Racing NSW may conduct its own assessment as to that person’s fitness and propriety before permitting him or her to own, lease or race a horse in
NSW.

(11) For the avoidance of doubt and without limiting any other provisions of the Rules (being the Australian Rules of Racing and these Local Rules), an ownership or lease interest includes an interest held by a person (from 0% to 100%) as a:
(a) director or shareholder of a company;
(b) partner of a partnership or firm;
(c) trustee of a trust;
(d) manager or member of a syndicate,

and any other interest or position where the person is able to exercise any control or influence in respect of a horse or either directly or indirectly has the power to vote or participate in business decisions in respect of the horse.

If only Alligator Al wasn’t an egomaniac who loves the limelight, this would never have happened.

See the bits I have highlighted in bold?

Allan Endresz purports to be the owner of Alligator Blood.

He has told us so a thousand times.

Endresz has an interest in the Alligator of somewhere between zero and a hundred percent.

He has told us that a thousand times too.

Alligator Al is a trustee of his family trust that owns Alligator Blood.

It’s in the ASIC and various court records.

Al is the manager of the Ezybonds no 1 syndicate that owns the Alligator via the trust.

It is in the race book.

He makes all the business decisions in respect of the horse.

We all know that.

Hoist on his own petard.

That’s what you call it.

PVL has done big Al like a dinner.

Not because he wanted to get him.

Because Peter V’Landys is an honourable and virtuous man.

He just did it because it was right.

That’s the way he is.

And praise the universe, and his ancestors, and his parents for that.

A job well done Mr and Mrs V’Landys senior.

A job very well done indeed.
