Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
Scott Whitton and Jodie Foster are Tumby Park. Tumby Park has over the past 5 years through blood, sweat, toil, tears, passion, hard work and investment become one of Australia’s leading harness racing owners. Their horses are the My Ultimate’s. They own the two-year old pacers My Ultimate Ronnie and My Ultimate Byron. Both of […]
I am buggered if I know what an s2yo is, but one thing I do know is that Bar Room Banta isn’t one. I also know that the 2YO Breeders Challenge fields have been out for most of the week, which is handy because they are being run tonight at Menangle. This is a balls […]
Many people ask me who Peter Profit was. This is he. My favourite pacer as a kid. You wouldn’t mind owning a horse that raced for ten seasons and recorded a 27% win rate and ran a place 57% of the time, most of them in Free For All races, would you? He was a […]
Well how is this for timing? On Thursday we publish a story highly critical of the Racing Integrity Board in which we highlight the deficiencies in the newly introduced system of an external Adjudicative Committee hearing and determining matters that have been traditionally the domain of racing stewards in each of the codes, and questioning […]
The Grand Circuit is the world heavyweight championship of harness racing. It’s fought over seven gruelling rounds of super-elite racing designed to sort the men out from the boys and girls. I’m not using that phrase to be sexist, simply because it is the truth. Just as world women’s heavyweight champ Hanna Gabriels wouldn’t last 10 […]

Bendigo race caller, telling us what we all see, for the benefit of the radio listeners The Alby Ashwood trained and driven Lightning Jash was was backed for a stack in the 5th at the Bendigo trots last […]
Watch the replay below. It is a heat of the rich 3YO NSW Breeders Challenge run at Bathurst last night. Winning it guarantees a pacer a place in the semi-finals. Five quick things before you look. Mitch Turnbull is driving the leader. His sister Amanda is on his back. The favourite is in the death. […]
The tenth race at the Ballarat trots on Saturday night highlights the absolute absurdity of the Victorian grading system, and makes a mockery of the ratings system and the idea of like racing like in the same class. How can you have a claimer where the claim price of the horses ranges from $20 000 […]
This was received last night from a harness racing industry expert. It is a very astute analysis/ Well there is the ultimate exercise in stupidity from Harness Racing Victoria. Why did it edit the video to cut out the interference in the straight? If it wasn’t TABCorp putting up the replay in its entirety someone else […]
How the hell did former Albion Park and APG Gold committee man Trevor Reilly get away with registering this name? Say it out loud. Gee I wonder what he’s pushing up the hill?
