An Angel and Three Little Birds – Soon to be Four (First Published Dec 2021)

It’s a day of Christmas magic today for sure, and for the well known racing family the Bird’s, it a day of even more.

Doreen Bird was a racing woman who is the grand-dam of a brood of beautiful racing girls, Hannah, Phoebe and Caitlin.

Sadly Doreen transitioned to the stars a few years back, and ever since she left us bereft on earth her sons the famous AFL umpire and author Murray and his brother Russell have sponsored an annual race in her name and memory in Brisbane on Boxing Day

The family was out in force at Doomben today to celebrate Doreen’s life through the race named after her, but this year they were celebrating some even more.

On the day of her beloved grandma’s race, a little bird told us a little secret.

Hannah’s having a baby!

How brilliant is that, and what wonderful timing.

It’s a miracle of Christmas, in a world full of angels, birds and stars.

And baby bumps too.

Congratulations to Hannah, her partner Matt, and the whole Bird family.

What wonderful news, what a wonderful day.

See that sun shining Hannah?

It’s Doreen, smiling down on you in joy.

A baby bird hey?

You little ripper!

This bet trader from 365 was the envy of every man on theĀ  Doomben course today, and half the women too. Strangely it is said that he somehow forgot to inform the admiring masses that he was the Bird girl’s adopted little brother. Funny that. I would have forgotten too.
