First They Came For the Black Kids – Then They Came For Racing Integrity – And Then They Came For ……?

Really?

No precedent cases?

I did a simple Google search, and I came up with 10 pages of them.

This is nonsense.

So is the notion that the race day Stewards have no responsibility for the right horses racing as themselves in the right races.

That is absolute baloney.

Making sure that there are no ring-ins – accidental or deliberate – is one of the fundamental pillars of an integrity official’s job.

After all, if being honest was only up to trainers and stable hands, why would we bother having Stewards at all?

We could save a fortune.

C’mon Mr Mike Clements, former Assistant Commissioner of NZ Police.

We have given you a good run and a big wrap, and to date still believe that we are right.

Don’t let us down.

This sort of crap is the thin edge of the wedge, a bit like the police defence of the murder/manslaughter of the aboriginal kid in the NT.

If you let it pass without critical comment it becomes the norm.

Then who is next?
