Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
As with almost everything in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, family standing in the royal court was what counted most in the rise and fall of Saudi business tycoon Ghaith R. Pharaon. He is a central figure in the scandal surrounding the Bank of Credit and Commerce International’s alleged secret purchase of three American banks, […]
Ricky Vale, far right I was wrong about the prelim to the big fight at the Ville Casino on Saturday night. Ricky Vale was not cutting Tim Cook’s lunch by shagging his missus, firstly because he doesn’t have one, and secondly because Mr Vale professes that he wouldn’t go within 10 foot of her if […]
Until a fortnight ago the Kiwi pacer Cab Calloway had raced 55 times for 3 different trainers and had won just twice. On both occasions it had dream runs against rather ordinary opponents The first came at Winton about 3 years ago in a team drive (his team) where the stablemate led and he sat […]
The latest mail out of Central QLD is that despite its clear shortage of race stewards in the region, the QRIC have stood the vastly experienced and highly liked and respected stipe Kerrie McCracken down from active duty in her usual role as Chief Steward in the Central West, all because her partner is a […]

Can you find them anywhere? It’s got me buggered. Luckily I did a rough count of the results and the gross before […]
I have a confession to make. I’ve talked to hundred of people about the HRA Stallion Levy, many of them major players in the game, and including HRA CEO Andrew Kelly, and based on these discussions I have formed various positions about the Yes/No argument for its introducion. But I have never really known what […]
…. mushroom or pepper sauce is what you put on a steak, which is preferably cooked medium rare. Your new trotting stallion’s name is On A Streak. Which judging by your promo material you are clearly not. Never mind. It’s all just a dead cow to us. And no-one down here has really ever heard […]
I have to apologise to anyone crazy brave enough to follow Merv’s tips, for I got it wrong. It was race 3 no 1, not race 1 no 3. It didn’t matter though. They both lost. Merv 34, a winner Nil. One day the drought has to break. I just hope that we are all […]
