Correction and Apology to Eathan Suli

Yesterday we published a story based on information received, stating that cadet Steward Eathan Suli’s employment ended due to questions about the use of a QRIC vehicle.

Mr Suli’s mother has contacted us this morning to tell us – in much more polite terms than may be expected in the circumstances – that our story as it pertained to her son was incorrect in every respect (that is, in my language, that it was absolute expletive deleted crap), and we believe her.

We are advised that young Mr Suli’s cadetship had concluded, and that he was actually offered a contract in a permanent role at a higher pay level as a senior steward position with the QRIC, but declined the offer as it would mean that he would have to relocate to either Brisbane or Townsville, a decision that makes perfect sense as I have lived in these cities, and dislike them both. I would suggest to you that Mr Suli’s decision is evidence that he is a very smart chap, who has rather good judgement indeed.

Both the author of the story – which was me, Archie Butterfly – and the publisher of peterprofit.com apologise profusely and unreservedly to Eathan Suli for the incorrect information that was published, and for any hurt caused. We will make it up to you in beer and a feed if we run into each other at the races one day Sir, and if you deign to drink with me.

By way of reparation I will give you four tips.

Your oldies are absolute crackers, and you are lucky to have them.

Live your life in a manner that makes them proud of you, which you obviously already are.

If you want a career in stewarding you need to work and learn from the best, so fly straight over Brisbane and land in Sydney and Melbourne.

And nobody’s perfect.

I wish I knew her.

Our bad.

We’re truly sorry.

Good luck in the future.

With parents like yours you will go far.
