Harness Racing New Zealand is conducting a formal review of the recent controversial incident whereby the qualification rules for the prestigious 2YO Young Guns Trot series were altered to allow horses that hadn’t contested a heat to gain a place in the field for the final (the original published conditions were that only horses that ran in a heat were eligible to race in the final).
