SLEEPEE – Began badly when galloping away and will continue to be excluded from the mobile barrier draw. Pulled up and retired from the race as it approached the first turn due to a damaged right sulky shaft. The sulky was inspected post-race and found to be of suitable quality. Prior to the all-clear Stewards reviewed the start of the event and found the reported gear issue occurred after the start which was also confirmed by driver Josh Duggan. In view of the circumstances SLEEPEE was declared a runner with no further action taken.
