Bahama Bruce’s Best Bets at Rosehill on Slipper Day – 1st Half of the Card

Race 1: No 6 – California Zimbol

Slashing run first-up, goes great in the wet, winner second-up last prep, beat Loving Gaby three starts back. Say no more. Just get on.

Race 2: No 9 – Supernova

Young import who in his second Aussie prep ran 2nd to Surprise Baby in the Bart Cummings in the Spring. Slashing run behind Shared Ambition first-up, looks to have muscled up and matured, and this is a nice easy pick for him. Expect him to give Avdulla a race to race double.

Race 4: No 4 – Norway

High-class former Aidan O’Brien trained stallion who ran 3rd in the Irish Derby and was good enough to race against Enable in the King George VI Stakes as a 3YO last season. That form is ten lengths better than any other in this race. Craig Williams knows better than anyone how to ride UK stayers. Expect him to win.

Race 5: No 2 – Te Akau Shark

A champion in the making. Wins. Super Seth runs second.
