Another Grubby Day in Paradise – Part 1 – Poor Form, Plunges and Picking Your Battles

The word we’ve heard is that since we republished out story about his hook job on Helsun over the weekend, journeyman jockey Nathan Day is even more pissed at the author of the story Archie Butterfly, and has been running around town threatening or wishing the writer bodily harm.

Well Grubby, I’ll call your and double down, and Queensland Racing Integrity Commission Race Day Stewards pay careful attention to the words that follow.

I wish to draw everyone’s attention to a race meeting held on the 27th of April 2019 in the sunny city of Mackay in Central Queensland.

Race 4 is what we are all looking at.

In this race a walker named Amron was rather well-backed, which was a tad unusual for a horse with its somewhat dreadful form.

The favorite in the race Cristovao blew out the door in the betting, which was also rather strange given that it was clearly the best horse in the race by panels, and probably should have been starting at odds-on.

There are some other curious events to follow, but first we will break for intermission and a quick six words from our sponsors, the Schooling Jockeys Up About the Myth That Destroying Mobile Phones or Deleting Text Messages Makes Them Safe From Scrutiny Education Trust, Geebung.
